Dr. Jacquie Pankatz is a Collingwood native and veterinarian who has practiced in our region for over 24 years. She owns Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital on Poplar Sideroad which has served the community for over 20 years. Dr. Pankatz has been a supporter of the local high school cooperative programs and has hosted many highschool, college and university students with interests in pursing a career in the veterinary field. Dr. Pankatz is a true local who has grown up on the ski hills of Blue Mountain and continues to enjoy boating on Georgian Bay. She is a certified scuba diver and has worked and been in partnership in a veterinary clinic in Turks and Caicos. She has two boys that attend local schools and has had a multitude of pets over the years, all of which have been rescued in one way or another. Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital is a full service pet hospital equipped to handle preventative and routine health care as well as advanced care in the areas of ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery. This fall, the hospital is expanding to house the region’s first pet rehabilitation and hydrotherapy centre. Dr. Pankatz is a certified sonographer through the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society and has served as President, the first Canadian veterinarian to hold the position. She is an international ultrasound instructor and lecturer, and is a member of the Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Barrie.
