12 Annual Bowls for Beds

HOME HORIZON BRINGS BOTH LITTLE ARTISTS & LOCAL ARTISTS TOGETHER FOR ITS 12TH ANNUAL BOWLS FOR BEDS FUNDRAISER

This Spring we welcome you to join Home Horizon and The Barbara Weider House for the annual Bowls for Beds fundraiser, a two-part event: with bowls from our young artists, and one of a kind hand painted bowls by local professional artists. This year’s event is 12 years in the making and stronger than ever bringing together art and education to raise awareness about youth homelessness in our community. Here’s how it works:

Kids Bowls– Local elementary school children have been busy painting bowls and learning about homelessness in our community. With a minimum donation of $50 you will receive a beautiful bowl painted by one of these amazing students and a Pom Pom’s voucher for a free scoop of ice cream. Bowls will be available to purchase online or by email between May 12th through to June 12th, and can be picked up in person on June 12th 10am-2pm at The Curly Willow Restaurant, in Collingwood. If you are unavailable to pick up your bowl, please let us know and we will arrange for delivery. Head to homehorizon.ca/buyabowl to get yours!

Artists Bowls– On June 7th we’ll be kicking off an auction on Instagram where we will auction off 24, one-of-a-kind bowls, hand-painted by local artists. Bids will start at $125 and will close on Friday, June 11th. We can’t wait to show off the artistic talent of some of our amazing local artists who have each hand painted their own signature bowl. Follow us on Instagram @home.horizon to participate!

Last year, Home Horizon raised approximately $30,000 and we are hoping to get close to that same goal this year!

About Home Horizon & The Barbara Weider House

Home Horizon is a local not-for-profit organization helping homeless youth in the South Georgian Bay area. Our mission is to transform the lives of youth at risk of homelessness by providing them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential. The need is so great that the Barbara Weider House has been full since it opened in July 2017 and there is an ongoing waiting list for our services. Youth desperately want and need our help
