Collingwood United Soccer Club Teams with Collingwood Youth Centre to promote Project Butterfly
Collingwood, ON. – May 30, 2022 – Collingwood United Soccer Club (CUSC) is proud to announce its association with Project Butterfly! …Project Butterfly is a Collingwood Youth Centre (CYC) initiative that aims to address food insecurity in Collingwood as a 24/7 self-serve food bank.
The “brainchild” of CYC’s Ash Smith, Project Butterfly is a barrier-free community fridge/pantry with food available for all to use (low-income families; seniors; the homeless) and for the community to donate to. The fridge/pantry is situated just outside the CYC at 76 First Street, Collingwood. Project Butterfly saw its official kick-off late March. Now it’s CUSC’s turn!
This season Collingwood United Soccer Club will proudly display the Project Butterfly logo on its uniforms in support of this outstanding community initiative. What’s more – collaboration between CUSC and the CYC promises to be ongoing with Project Butterfly food drives and more throughout the 2022 soccer season! Club members will be kept apprised via the club’s web site and Facebook pages.
It’s sincerely hoped that both CUSC members and sponsors will take it upon themselves to participate in the food drives as well as by visiting the CYC Project Butterfly pantry to make donations. Those interested in further assisting Project Butterfly are encouraged to seek additional information at . CUSC and the CYC thank you in advance for your support! …Collingwood United Soccer Club (CUSC) is a non-profit volunteer organization offering both youth and adult recreational, development, and competitive soccer programs.
