The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority advises that the Flood Outlook Statement has now upgraded to a Flood Watch.
Water levels are high due to the amount of rain and snow over the weekend and ground conditions are frozen or saturated and there’s more rain on the way.
Snow and ice has accumulated and will also begin to melt as temperatures rise above freezing late Sunday evening.
Municipalities, emergency services and individual landowners in flood-prone areas should be on alert.
Hazardous conditions may exist around all waterbodies, as there is a high risk of life-threatening injury if a person falls into the extremely cold water. The public and especially children are advised to stay away from all water bodies.
Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority say that this Flood Watch Statement will be in effect until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday until cancelled.
