By 1986, New Jersey based band Bon Jovi already had two albums out and although a following was growing for their brand of hard rock, major success eluded them.
With a conscious effort to create a commercial mainstream album, they sought out Canadian producer Bruce Fairbairn. Fairbairn had already scored some success with Prism, Loverboy and other Canadian bands.
Recording sessions took place between January and July 1986 at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Slippery When Wet was released on August 18, 1986 and became an instant commercial success. The album features songs that are considered Bon Jovi’s best k such as “You Give Love a Bad Name”, ” Wanted Dead or Alive” this song..
