Collingwood Mayor and Deputy Mayor race is on!

It was an inspiring night last night at the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce Meet the Candidates meeting. It was as a jammed to capacity audience that took in a presentation of the three Collingwood Mayoral Candidates and the two candidates for Deputy Mayor.

There were reports about some friction outside of the Royal Canadian Legion Collingwood Branch by folks denied entry when the doors where locked due to the rooms capacity being reached over 15 minutes before the event was scheduled to start.

The very large crowd was civil and attentive to each of the speakers. There were some laughs and applause outbursts as each of the candidates shared their personality and opinions. There were moments of consensus and clearly topics that polarized the candidates, but all in in all it was a friendly and informative presentation by each participant.

Congratulations to (in order of their randomly chosen appearance) Brian Saunderson, Michael Blair, John Trude the candidates for Mayor as well as Deputy Mayor Candidates Keith Hull and Ian Chadwick.
