Van Morrison’s father got him his first guitar at age 12 and soon after he formed his first band where he started also singing lead. When he turned 17 he talked his father in getting him a saxophone and he soon added that instrument to his repertoire!
Van Morrison had already had great success with the band Them when before he went solo.
