The Collingwood Food Bank stock is currently very low. Run by the Salvation Army, early fall days are amongst the most difficult to meet the needs of the community.
This message was heard by local Allstate Agent, MJ Ridgeway. As someone who generally works during the open donation times of the food bank, she began to think of what she could do to help. She has organized an early-morning event to help those like her be able to get donations right into the hands of the Food Bank.
The event is this Friday September 14th, from 6:30 to 9:00 am, at the Thurst-T’s parking lot (at 298 Pretty River Parkway). Food and cash donations accepted. Free coffee will be offered to those that donate.
Items specifically needed right now are; all canned goods including vegetables and meats, hot and cold cereals, cookies, Kraft Dinner, and labelled “peanut-free” items for school lunches.
