Bruce Trail Day

Please join us on Bruce Trail Day. This annual free event celebrates the efforts of the Bruce Trail Conservancy to ensure the preservation of a “Ribbon of Wilderness, for everyone, forever”. Representatives from the BTC and local Blue Mountain Club will be on hand to answer any questions you have and let you know how you can get involved.

This year’s theme will be “Bruce Trail for All.” This theme centers on our commitment to welcoming diverse communities and fostering inclusivity and belonging among all who explore our trail system. Everyone is welcome on the Bruce Trail; we invite nature lovers, hikers of all levels and ages, and anyone wanting to venture onto the Trail for the first time or experienced hikers to join us.

There will be two hike options. A shorter, relatively level, 3 km hike, and a longer 7 km hike. The shorter hike, led by Annette Sandberg, will take you to a beautiful lookout and include information on the geology of the Niagara Escarpment and local history. Dr. Kelly-Leigh Thomas and Allison Thomas will lead the longer hike and circle through the bluffs, up through the Keyhole Pass, to the Lookout, and return to your car.

Note: Access by taking Mill Town Rd, . Parking on the south side of the road.

Need Directions: Meet behind Tim Hortons on First St., Collingwood, at 8:45 to carpool to Nottawasaga Bluffs.

Time: 9:30 AM. Hikes leave the trailhead at 10:00 AM and end between 12:30 and 1:30, depending on which hike you choose.
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear and bring a water bottle. We also ask that hikers please leave their pets at home.
