Resilience, Discovery, & Hope

Three Simcoe County experts are sharing a presentation that will illuminate and inspire people to transform their lives. With individuals handling heightened levels of stress and anxiety like never before, “An Evening of Resilience, Discovery and Hope” will help audience members learn about confronting life, including how to emerge as a winner.
The event will be held on May 29th, 6:30-8:30pm, at the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street. Featured will be presentations by international speaker Forrest Willett, mental health specialist Dr. Chantel Coward and happiness expert Peter Jennings. There is no cost for the evening.
“The three of us are really pumped about this,” says Jennings. “Forrest inspires people to be positive, do their best and be their greatest. Chantel offers real depth of wellness expertise through her doctorate degree in clinical psychology, and her experience and expertise is awesome. And as a happiness expert, my role is to share ‘7 Secrets to Happiness That Can Change Your Life.’ It will be a powerful evening.”
“Forrest has such a compelling message,” says Chantel Coward, referring to the man whose near-death automobile accident left him with a catastrophic brain injury. “He’s spoken around the world and he motivates people to become the best version of themselves. As for Peter, he’s a professional writer and happiness expert who is the author of “Why Being Happy Matters”. He regularly receives ‘Best Presentation Ever’ accolades as he blends humour, facts and advice featuring some of the 37 people he interviewed for the book.”
“I’ve been fortunate to speak internationally in places like Dubai, India, England, Japan, the Philippines, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States,” says Forrest Willett. “The response from international audiences is consistent: people are searching for ways to overcome stress and anxiety. They see my journey from catastrophic brain injury to creating a productive and meaningful life as a testament to resilience. I know that the evening Chantel, Peter and I have planned will go a long way to achieving the goal of helping people to overcome coping challenges in their lives.”
Chantel is the owner/operator of Chantel Coward and Associates in Midland, a multidisciplinary team providing skills, therapy and treatment for both mental and physical health. She has had the opportunity to provide service for large organizations such as the Ontario Provincial Police Association, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health and Queen’s University. She has also been a professor at Lakehead University (Orillia Campus) and University Partnership Centre (Georgian College). Her focus is on how to remain intact during difficult times with the armour people require to remain emotionally resilient.
Ample time for audience questions and observations will be included for this free event. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase autographed copies of Willett’s book “Finding Forrest: A Search for Emotional Success” and Jennings’ “Why Being Happy Matters” if they wish. The presentation premiered recently at the Orillia Library which was filled to capacity, so those wishing to attend the Collingwood event on May 29th should register at the Library Public Service Desk, online through the Library’s event calendar, or by calling (705) 445-1571.
