Sing & Celebrate – A Volunteer Thank-You Event

In celebration of the United Nations’ International Volunteer Year, the Barrie & Area Association of Volunteer Administrators (BAVA), in partnership with Choir Revolution, is hosting a regional series of volunteer appreciation events across Simcoe County.

The Sing & Celebrate series boasts a “ridiculously fun” guided sing-along for volunteers of all ages and abilities at local hot spots – no singing experience required. The event is designed to celebrate the vital contributions of volunteers across Barrie and surrounding communities, while creating a shared moment of joy through music.

The evening will feature a social hour followed by an interactive group singing experience centered around the theme “What a Wonderful World – Songs of Hope & Light.”

“The entire year is dedicated to recognizing the people who quietly give their time to make their communities better, so we’re partnering with volunteer committees in each city and inviting them out for a night they truly deserve,” explains Brett Caswell, founder of Choir Revolution, “When a room full of people sing together, something shifts. Strangers become friends. Stress softens. And for a little while, the world actually does feel like a pretty wonderful place.”

This series is part of a broader effort to celebrate and inspire volunteerism throughout the region during this globally significant year. Community members, whether current volunteers or those curious about getting involved, are encouraged to attend.
