Chase the Ace with My Friend’s House Cancelled Last Draw Wednesday August 8th

What is Chase the Ace?

Chase the Ace is a progressive lottery where a deck of 52 cards is used to play until the Ace of Spades is drawn.

How do you play?

You purchase tickets at three locations in Collingwood: Ashanti’s Coffee, Dollar Villa and Mad Dogs Coffee and Vinyl Café.

When you purchase a ticket, you have the opportunity to select an envelope number between 1 and 52 on your ticket stub.

On draw day, if your ticket is selected you win 20% of the weeks ticket proceeds and the opportunity to see if the numbered envelope you chose contains the Ace of Spade to win the progressive jackpot which is 30 % of the weeks ticket proceeds.

If the Ace of Spades is not drawn, the card is removed from the deck and the progressive prize portion is rolled over into the progressive jackpot for the next draw.

How does My Friend’s House Benefit?

My Friend’s House stands to receive over $900 weekly.

If the Ace isn’t drawn until the very end, My Friend’s House will raise over $48,000 and the progressive jackpot will be over $29,000, not to mention the weekly winners. Every week, My Friend’s wins and someone in the community wins.  It’s a win-win situation!

Why does My Friend’s House need the money?

The purpose of this unique fundraiser is to help offset the direct costs to keep My Friend’s House doors open. We are funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services but we still have to raise close to 40% of our budget.  This translates to close to $400K.  My Friend’s House is the only service in the Georgian Triangle focused on keeping abused women and their children safe and we cannot do it without the support of the community.

How much do tickets costs?

Tickets are $5.00 each and will be sold Tuesday to Tuesday. Ticket sale cut off time will be Tuesdays at 12 noon.  There are only 375 tickets available for sale each week so your tickets early and good luck everyone.

  • On the last draw day, the winning ticket will collect 20 % of ticket sales for the week and IF the Ace of Spades is still not found another ticket will be selected from the raffle drum.
  • The 2nd ticket will not win 20 %, this ticket will be used for the sole purpose of finding the Ace of Spades.  The selected envelope indicated on the 2nd ticket stub will be opened.  If the Ace of Spades is in the selected envelope, the progressive jackpot of 30 % is awarded to the winner of that ticket stub.  If select an envelope is NOT indicated, an envelope will be chosen at random from the remaining envelopes for you.
  • If the envelope on the 2nd ticket has been opened in a previous draw, the next numbered envelope greater to that number will be opened, this process take place once per ticket drawn.  If the Ace of Spades is drawn, the progressive jackpot will be awarded to the winner of that ticket stub.
  • If the Ace of Spades in not found with the 2nd ticket stub, then a 3rd ticket will be selected from the raffle drum and same rules apply until the Ace of Spades is found to declare the game is officially over.
