Fight the Phrag

Volunteers are invited to come fight the phrag with us. We will be using hand tools to cut the phragmites underwater to drown the plant and then we will be moving the cut stems to piles to be picked up by the Town of Collingwood for proper disposal on a later date. Cutting will take place near Hen and Chicken Island so we ask volunteer to park on Balsam Street and meet at White’s Bay Park. There will be two cutting sessions: a morning removal from 8:00 to 11:30 and an afternoon removal from 1 to 4:30. A free BBQ lunch is available for all volunteers at the Rod and Gun Club.
